Boat in Tobermory

Within easy reach of Lichen Burn is the port of Oban (12 miles), with its ferry links to Mull and other islands of the Hebrides. Why not take a trip to Tobermory at the north end of Mull, or the ferry to Coll and Tiree just beyond Mull?

Connel Bridge near Oban Scotland

Just beyond, you will come to the Connel Bridge which crosses the dramatic Falls of Lora, a reef dividing Loch Etive from Dunstaffnage Bay. Depending on the state of the tide, the water cascades over the reef in a dramatic display of water mechanics.

Beyond Oban to the south the coast road takes you to magical lochs and inlets, and there are many boat operators that will take you to visit the infamous Corryvreckan whirlpool and the Pass of the Grey Dogs, spotting seals, dolphins and occasionally whales along the way.
